Lesson Learned

Yesterday we made the weekly trip to the grocery store to pick up some items for this next week. As we were walking into the store we passed a kid sitting on the sidewalk smoking who was way to young to be smoking, wearing dirty clothes and messy hair. I would have normally just walked by not paying attention but I was holding Logan.

He is into waving at everyone and everything lately. As we walked passed this kid Logan had a big smile waving right at him. He looked up at him and grinned.

I learned from my 11 month year old no matter what people look like, what stage of life they are in or where they come from we are all God's children and he cares about each one of us! Oh how blessed I am to have him as an example in my life.

Next time I will be the one waving at the stranger sitting on the sidewalk.

Ear Candle...

So about a week ago I woke up and one of my ears was clogged! After about 20 attempts of trying to clear it and 40 q-tips later I decided to call my always trusty, has a cure for everything mother-in-law. I told her about my current situation of going crazy not being able to hear. She said to come up to her house later that night after work and she could fix it.

I march downstairs to tell Trent and the first thing he says is EAR CANDLES! I must have been born on another planet because I had never heard of them. He then goes on to explain to me that you get a hollow cotton dipped bees wax tube, stick it in your ear, lite it and somehow it removes all the ear wax from your ear. It sounded a bit hokey but I was willing to try anything at that point.

We head up to Trent's parents house to find these tubes. I lay on my side stick the candle in my ear and lite it...five minutes later I can hear! My ear popped and it felt great! I did the other side because I could now hear better out of the ear that had just been candled (is that a word). Since then I have told everyone about it!

There are mixed reviews on the subject but anytime to feel like your ears need a good cleaning I highly recommend this!

(I wasn't naked like the photo! You can leave your clothes on when you do it, just to try to blow the flame out! Something about flaming hair! Cut the end off when you are done!)
